  • The Business Accounting major is ideal for business students wanting to complement their business studies with a well-rounded knowledge in accounting. The major is not accredited with CPA/CAANZ. Students seeking a fully accredited accounting degree should enrol in the Bachelor of Accounting
  • Broaden your career options by integrating accounting tools and concepts with business knowledge.
  • Explore topics including taxation law, management accounting, business law and ethics, and financial reporting and analysis. 
  • Gain foundational knowledge of accounting concepts, such as financial accounting, managerial costing and budgetary policies, investing, and financing of business operations.
  • Understand the tools accountants use to analyse financial information and to inform business decision making.
  • Examine the process that financial statement audits are conducted within the Australian professional, ethical and legal framework through a practical case study assessment. 

Career outcomes

As a graduate of this major, you will be able to apply your skills to a wide range of roles within the public and private sectors including government, financial institutions and corporate businesses. You many also choose to pursue further studies to qualify as a registered accountant.

Entry requirements

Pre-requisites

To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in:

  • English (Units 3 & 4, C), and
  • General Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)

English language requirements

You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 with a minimum 5.5 in each subscore. ҹɫè also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
