To celebrate Queensland Mental Health Week (October 5-13), the ҹɫè (ҹɫè) has launched a new podcast called Weaving Wellbeing.

The series will showcase the work of the University’s School of Psychology and Wellbeing staff and students who are working for a better world.

Host Dr Kim Stewart – a social worker and community broadcaster for the past two decades – sits down with psychologists, counsellors, social workers, human service workers and ҹɫè students who have made caring about others their profession and passion.

Dr Stewart said the podcast addresses some of the community's most critical mental health issues.

“Alongside the difficulties of getting by, people are under mental stress in all sorts of ways that motivate our school researchers, staff and students to understand and help,” she said.

“The podcast offers an accessible platform for the public to explore social, mental health, and equity issues, as well as the motivations and journeys of those who become psychologists, social workers, counsellors, and human service workers.”

People can listen to on Spotify, with new episodes every day starting today (October 1).

Dr Stewart’s first guest is ҹɫè Professor Lorelle Burton, who has been helping kids stay in school through her long association with Queensland Flexi School.
